Bernhard’s Nurseries goes completely Melcourt peat-free

One of the UK’s most respected commercial growers - Bernhard’s Nurseries Ltd of Rugby in Warwickshire - has switched all of its production to Melcourt Sylvamix®. We’ve introduced new 15L carry home packs for Melcourt SylvaGrow® , SylvaGrow® with added John Innes (peat-free) and SylvaGrow® Ericaceous. The new packs are especially convenient for gardeners who don’t need larger quantities – or can’t cope with large bags for one reason or another. A small group of growers and professional gardeners met at our Tetbury headquarters recently for a tour of our manufacturing facilities and to learn more about the lengths we go to in order to produce top quality products. World’s largest flower about to bloom in Sylvamix®

Titan arum, the world’s largest flower – and possibly its smelliest – is about to bloom at the Eden Project. Grown in Melcourt Sylvamix®,  the flower attracts insects by emitting the smell of rotting flesh. The corm weighs a staggering 35kgs and as at 26th June the flower stood at 91cms.
