Melcourt take off at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 (December 2004)

Melcourt Industries have been chosen by Hasmead plc to supply up to 20,000 cubic metres of bark mulch to the soft landscaping of the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. The project, which is planned to last until 2008, is one of the largest currently under construction in the UK with a total value of £17 million.

“We chose Melcourt for the proven quality of their product, their quick turn around as we call off supplies, their delivery strategies which includes the use of vehicles with walking floors, and their total reliability,” says Nigel Bowcock of Hasmead. “This is a hugely prestigious project on which it is vital that we have supplier partners we can trust.”

“We have worked closely with Hasmead for many years and are delighted to be working with them on such a vast scheme,” says Andy Chalmers, Sales & Marketing Director of Melcourt. “In fact, apart from its sheer size, we are treating this project in exactly the same way as we would any other: we know from customer research that one of the things they value most about Melcourt is that we work hard to get the detail of deliveries right.”
