Product Features
- The Melcourt Salad-Bag®
contains a special bark formulation, from the UK’s market leader in the
manufacture of bark-based products for horticulture.
- Requires the same
greenhouse layout and husbandry as conventional mineral wool slabs.
- Extremely consistent
product backed by rigorous quality assurance systems.

Virtually no nutrient
content allowing full control over nutrient regimes.
- Maintains the high
starting air-filled porosity throughout the life of the crop allowing ultimate
control of watering and feeding.
- 100% peat-free.
- Packed in co-extruded polythene sleeves.
- Melcourt Salad-Bags® are packed on
900 x 1100mm one-way trip pallets with 110 bags per pallet. Each pallet load
has protective corner strips, is top sheeted, spun wrapped and individually
labelled.
- Soon we expect transplants to be available in
a similar medium to the Melcourt Salad-Bag®.
How to Use
- Melcourt Salad-Bags® should be laid
out in the greenhouse and used in the same way as mineral wool slabs
- Drainage slits can be cut after full wetting up
- Conventional nutrient solutions should be
applied although the indications are that up to 20% less water / nutrient may be
sufficient for optimum yield and quality
- Can be recycled or composted
at the end of the season
Crop Management
- The use of Melcourt
Salad-Bags® does not require any major changes to crop management
compared to mineral wool systems
