Melcourt TopgrowTM
    Melcourt TopgrowTM is used to:-

  • Help the successful establishment and continued growth of newly planted trees and shrubs.
    Product Description

  • Melcourt TopgrowTM is a carefully formulated tree and shrub planting compost, that is 100% peat-free and contains an appropriate slow release fertilizer.
  • A product from our 'deluxe' range.
  • Dark brown in colour.
  • The product is free flowing and easy to handle.
    Typical Uses

  • To improve the 'local' soil quality, when planting bare root, root balled and container grown trees and shrubs, from transplants and whips, up to semi mature subjects.
  • Not suitable for planting out of lime-hating subjects, e.g. rhododendrons. For these use Melcourt Composted Fine Bark with appropriate fertilizers

    Application Rates

  • Normal soil (loam) : 1 part Melcourt TopgrowTM to 3 parts soil.
  • Difficult soil (sand & clay) : 1 part Melcourt TopgrowTM to 2 parts soil.

    Product Specification

  • The product shall consist of well composted, finely graded organic residues of British origin, together with slow release fertilizer from organic sources.
  • The nominal particle size distribution to be 1-10 mm.
  • Typical product analysis in accordance wth BS 4156:1990 to be :-

    Application Rates

  • Thoroughly mix 1 part Melcourt TopgrowTM to ........ (insert number of parts) of soil.
  • Carefully back-fill into planting pit.
    Additional Clauses

  • Typical product samples to be provided upon request.
  • All product volumes to be calculated using The Bulk Density method, as set out in BS EN 12579:2000 and BS EN 12580:2000.
