Finished Products
- All Melcourt products are of British or European origin and formulated from natural organic materials derived from the agricultural, forestry wood processing and amenity industries.
- All of Melcourt’s eligible products hold Forest Stewardship Council certification. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international network that promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests.
FSC brings people together to find solutions to the problems created by bad forestry practices and to reward good forest management. It accredits independent third party organizations who can certify forest managers and forest product producers to FSC standards. The FSC product label allows consumers worldwide to recognize products that support the growth of responsible forest management worldwide.
- Previously, these materials were either extremely difficult to market or were dumped.
- All Melcourt products are 100% peat free. They have not been treated with chemicals or the sterilant methyl bromide, unless specifically requested by our customer.
- All of Melcourt's products can easily be recycled after use.
- Melcourt's ongoing research and development programme is constantly looking for new, sustainable raw materials. Those which show potential will be developed into environmentally friendly, cost effective products for the future.

Manufacturing
- At each of Melcourt's strategically located processing facilities, 'state of the art' equipment is used to effectively and efficiently convert raw materials into marketable products.
- Great care and attention is given in siting our facilities to reduce the visual and audible impact on the landscape and neighbours.
- All packaging materials are made of recyclable materials.
- Our production units are located to reduce delivery distances to our customers.
Distribution
- The nature of our products, together with customer requirements, necessitate deliveries using road transport.
- All vehicles used by Melcourt operate within the legal requirements in respect of weight, speed and driver hours.
Administration
- Wherever possible, all paper used is made from recycled fibres.
- All company cars operate on lead-free or diesel fuel.
- To reduce car use, we operate from regional offices and communicate using the best available information technology.
